Feathered Acrobats

Yesterday morning after the drizzly rain, the bulbuls were putting on an acrobatic show as they tried to get to the juicy brown dates still clinging to the palm trees.

While the doves just sat by quietly ...
watching ...
 as still as could be.
I am feeling very tired after 4 hours of cleaning so plan to sit here quietly for a while visiting all of you.
Best wishes and blessings,

These are beautiful pictures, what a pretty bird. Aren't the doves beautiful? They just have peace and grace about them - such lovely birds. Diane

I think the beauty of the birds is highlighted in the bleak midwinter! I love your bird images.
WE have a new feeder and we are just waiting for the birds to FIND it

Dearest Tammy,
Lovely photos of this Bulbul snacking on the ripe date! Doves don't eat fruits; wonder that they are thinking when others 'dine'?
You are brave for having cleaned the house! Kudos to you and enjoy a relaxing time.
Hugs,
Mariette

I looked up bulbuls as I had not heard of them before. Looks like they inhabit Asia and the Middle East. Not found here in the U.S. At least that is what I found online. Nice series of photos of the bulbuls and the pigeons. -- barbara

Are those dates edible by humans? The birds are very calming and entertaining. Sounds like you did some marathon cleaning and you have earned a well deserved rest. Sharing Joy...

Lovely photos! I so enjoy the birds in our yard, ever changing depending on the season. We have the Juncos (Snow birds - as they only are here during the winter months) now along with Cardinals, various sparrows, Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, and Goldfinches in their winter brown coat.

We've been making the most of our weekend here despite the fact that I'm still sick. It is getting better, but still kind of yucky. Hopefully it will clear up on its own without a visit to the doctors office, where I rarely go. ;)

Well, off to enjoy our Sunday here though we have a fair bit of work tidying up our party/garage space so that I can get to the remainder of the Christmas decor.

Kind regards,
Linda
