Joyful Walking and Discovery

All walking is discovery.
On foot we take the time to see things whole.
Hal Borland
We weren't the only ones who were out for a walk this morning.
I convinced Sam to take a different route.
He tends to get stuck going round and round the walking path.
A change of scenery every once in awhile is nice.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
Marcel Proust
There is joy in discovering something new to see even if it is just around the corner.
My eyes are always peeled for little treasures to bring home.
The leaf and rock got instant makeovers.
Inspired by AlisaKimmie and others.
Wishing you a joy-filled day!

Hi Tammy, thank you for visiting my blog. I'm so happy that you found me, as it means that I've found you too! Are you an ESOL teacher by any chance, like me?

Hey Tammy, I love the photos and wow it looks so warm there! I am still cold and snowy here but Spring is right around the corner!
Hope you have been well since I was last here on Blogger!
Have a super day!

Thanks for taking us along on your walk. I always love it when you do that. :)

I think the leaf is very pretty and the rock, too.

Have you left any of your rocks around for others to find...or would that not be allowed? I have heard of some people making things and leaving them with notes for others to find, just strangers who might happen upon them.

Sending blessings your way and happy weekend, too. :)

Hello Tammy,

Your world looks very sunny and warm. Mine is very cold and snowy today.

I agree when ones walk you can discover mother natures many wonders. I have always wanted to crochet a rock but I am not sure how to go about it. Love yours.

I am a collector of "Chooks" ( My Aussie friends word for Rooster) and your rooster is very grand looking guy.

May I ask what the white building is. A home?? Lots of lovely photos and thanks for sharing them. Hugs Judy

You saw some guineas and chickens! How cool! Looks like it was a very nice walk. Sometimes it's good to take a different path and see what you stumble upon :)

Here's to eyes peeled for little treasures! :)

What very handsome chickens you have there ... and those other birds too. (Guinea fowl?) And what a fun idea to paint a leaf. I've never seen that.

Enjoy your weekend!

P.S. I ought to have read the comment above mine. (They ARE guinea fowl.)

Hi Tammy,
I wonder if you'd be out walking here, where it feels like 22 this morning. No flowers blooming, lol. A few snowflakes in the air. I'm wanting to get back into my walk, but the cough from the flu hangs on for weeks and I learned what everyone around me always knew about me - I have asthma - after having a scary attack a few days ago. So.... I'm sort of taking it easy inside right now on the first of our 4 days off.

Hope you have a nice weekend.
Linda

Glad Sam was convinced to take a new route....look at what you got to see! That house is very pretty and the greenery is outstanding. The birds were posing, weren't they? Lucky you.....

Seems like you are experiencing a beautiful part of the year there. Get it while you can, right?

Have a good weekend. I've been thinking about you a lot lately for some reason?

Looks like a nice route to walk :-)
I like bringing things back from my walks too, but I don't often find much. Have a beautiful weekend! xx

I just returned from a walk and sat down to read your post. It was interesting to me to see what you saw on your walk in comparison to what I saw on mine. The one thing in common was the beautiful blue sky.
I love how you decorated that leaf and your crocheted rocks are so beautiful.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Boy, that's the truth, you see so and discover so much more when you are walking. Thanks for the reminder to get out there more.

Hi Tammy,
I'm so envious of your weather. It's still winter here and probably will be for the next three months. Love the painted leaf. I'm going to try that.

Yes, it is always nice to take different route sometimes for a change. I go for morning walk with Raj in a nearby Botanical garden and we many times pick a smooth marble like stone for Anshita to play hopscotch with her friends:)
