Tuesday This and That

This says it all!

Jingles likes to go out on the balcony at night but it's been so hot and humid lately, even she needs to find a way to cool off when she comes back in. Tonight's LOW will be 98 degrees. Several of you asked when we might get a break in the weather. Usually not til around November, hopefully. Never know from one year to the next.

Headed out this afternoon to my friend, Kathy's, for a haircut and took along a few gifts since her birthday was in early August.

Filled one of my upcycled cereal box gift totes with two doilies I made last nite, along with yarn I bought while in Geneva, IL this summer.

Kathy is very creative and it's always fun to see what she's been up to. Below is one of her Dazzle Rags (scarf) she gave me earlier in the year.

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday!

Many blessings, Tammy

Jingles is me these past few days. Not even tempted to go outside even though I'm crazy bored. You have just been too doily happy havent you. Wish I could muster up some energy and do something fun and creative. Too lazy....like a cat....lol!

Jingles is so cute sitting like that. Looks like she just woke up....or the heat makes her sleepy. All we can hope for is that the heat of this year will soon be a bad memory... there isn't much we can do about it anyway... so we'll take a cue from Jingles and just sit comfortably, 'til it's over!!! Did you notice the doilies matched the colours in the paper? I'm sure you did...:)

I have felt like Jingles for the past few weeks as we have been in the90's to 100. Cool today just in the low 80's. Going to enjoy every minute of it. Love your crochet something I have never learned to do.

Jingles is adorable. :D
We're having a break from the excessive heat this week and it's lovely, but still so dry. Haven't had substantial rain here in well over a month - more like 2 months. It's been a very dry summer.

I love the colors of the items you brought for your friend - autumn colors (my year round favorites!)

The gift tote is so pretty ... what a nice job you did and I'm loving watching you make all the doily coasters. I love them too! They look so perfectly stitched. Nice work. Jingles has the right idea with all that heat.

Hi Tammy Sweetie...
Now that Jingles is about the cutest darn cat I have seen in a very long time. He certainly knows how to cool off the belly doesn't he? I love it, and I think you should enter that photo in a contest somewhere for pets. He would be sure to win something. I love it.

Now those gifts for your friend, so delightful and thoughtful. Love the scarf she made for you too.

It is 96 degrees inside my house right now and still climbing. The air went out last night and we were so hoping they could make it out today. If they can't get to us late today, then they say tomorrow. I pray so, as I cannot take a 3rd night of heat. It is 112 outside.

Have a gorgeous evening sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Great... you've gone and done it. Looks like a trip to Geneva is on order this week. I have been sooooo good too. But this year is fun. Great job on your new project.s

I just can't get beyond thinking of that incredible heat. You all seem to deal with it, even Jingles. But 98 degrees the cool of the day? Diane

Poor Jingles - I can't take the heat either and looked just like that after our day of road work!

Your doilies are beautiful. I can crochet but only with yarn. That thin stuff makes my hand ache.

We've had a little break this week & the nights are wonderful. Can't imagine 98 at night. This has just been a miserable summer for lots of places but all we have to do is go in the AC. Lots aren't that lucky. Stay cool!!! Jan

Jingles looks nice and relaxed for sure. I still get that Garfiend vibe from her... It sounds awful hot there. Our lows are in the 70s now, but that should change for me in a few weeks!!YIKES!!
Your doilies are lovely. I went and bought that book that I told you about yesterday. I might give crocheting a try yet. I am sure Kathy loved your gifts; the yarn is beautiful. Her scarf she gave you is incredible. Hope you enjoyed your afternoon.
I was out of the house from 7-7 today. Boy am I tired. I owe you an email, and promise to do it tomorrow morning before my dentist appointment.

Have a great day!!

Love,
Renee

Wow! 98, do you ever get used to the heat? We are finally cooling off here, 57 this morn... our high of 90's partnered with 89-99% humidity has been the usual for many weeks this summer. More rain than ever.
I love your little crochet projects. I bought some yarn the other day and am attempting to make some dishcloths. I love those cotton ones. I have been learning how to crochet via EHOW online. I'm figuring it out slowly, but it is doable. Your kitty pic is just cute. I can't imagine wearing fur in your kinda heat!♥
